Many different neurosurgical and orthopedic procedures require the insertion of wire to give the areas additional stability and this cutter can be used to clip these at the desired length. Not only can this instrument be used to trim wire but also surgical pins. Fracture repair and other bone repair surgeries has to be set with pins that also need to be trimmed using this instrument. This instrument is available in two designs: stainless steal or tungsten carbide both of which can cup up to a diameter of 2.0 mm.
